Vikas project

The Vikas project is an NGO providing medical, education, housing, food, and art programs to families in tent camps in Pushkar, Rajasthan, India. These communities face complex problems with housing, education, and health. Scroll down to view photos.

What Vikas Project does:

 

  • Operate a free school providing high-quality education

  • Provide free after-school tuition

  • Assist with medical care

  • Build and repair housing for needy families

  • Help people with disabilities

  • Enable children and adults to create art

  • Feed and care for malnourished children

  • Help resolve domestic problems

  • Work to stop the use of tobacco by children

  • Provide families with lights, clothing and hygiene products

VISITING PUSHKAR?

We can always use durable toys (legos, blocks, dolls, vehicles, etc.), children's books in Hindi, English or Gujarati, children's clothing, and used tech items. We buy our school supplies (lesson books, notebooks, pencils, art supplies, school bags) locally. If you'd like to help with these please contact us first.
